Holy Communion during Easter Holy Holiday
During the Holy Week of Easter, baptized Christians should share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion and read from the Bible. It is Lord Jesus' direction to join him. Some Christian communities offer foot washing ceremonies as well which is a wonderful humbling experience as we walk to the Cross with our Lord.

God's Final Word
Anyone who reads my blog knows I am a Christian and witness for the Lord through environmental concerns. I believe we are living in the last book of the Bible, Revelation, which describes the conditions we keep encountering on earth. The diseases, weather, wars, corruption all are clearly defined in this book. It is particularly difficult US citizens to accept what is happening because we have conquered so much adversity and can provide much comfort living here for a broad range of the population. But the negatives have always been with us, now they are magnified and reading this last book in the Bible has helped me to understand why and that eventually it will end. But first life will get even more dangerous and difficult on earth. I could not face the future without the comfort of my Savior, Jesus Christ and the belief that he will return soon and peace will reign on earth. We have passed the Western Christian Churches Easter and await for the Orthodox Pasha on May 5. Then Pentecost arrives. That is the Christian Resurrection or Good News Season for 2013 and celebrations and acknowledgements will be posted here. God bless you!

Star of the East when God is Born.
Christmas Day evening I was looking forward to watching The Star of Bethlehem, a dvd I had bought several years ago and didn't seem to work very well. I put it in a better player and voila...the movie began. It was an amazing experience of a Christian lawyer who with new software, on his own tracked down the astronomy of the Star of the East when Jesus Christ was born. The star the Magi followed and who they were possibly, Jewish descendants of Daniel, and their spiritual meaning added to the Bible teachings of both Old and New Testaments. It was a fascinating account he presented and brought a fresh and deeply spiritual meaning to my Christmas.

Worthy is the Lamb!
After the Resurrection, Jesus' miracles continued. The Lord appeared to his Disciples to be with them one last time before he ascends into heaven. He reassures and comforts a grieving Mary at the tomb the morning of the Resurrection, He appears on the seashore and tells his Disciples who are out in a boat fishing where to catch fish and they haul in a huge amount. When the return to shore they see a man preparing a meal on a firepit and come to him because it is Jesus. Jesus comforts his Disciples and makes Peter the head of his church. He comes to a gathering of Disciples where Thomas is, who has declared he must touch Christ's wounds to believe and lets him do that. Thomas is overjoyed with belief in the Resurrected Christ. The Lord is preparing them for an even greater event to come shortly, the Ascension into heaven.
John 20:30-31 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. NIV

Lessons from the Master
So many stories of the teachings of Jesus before he finishes his life on earth, as primitive as those times seem, his lessons are clear for us today in a fast paced technological world. In the end, as much as we, the human race have tried to improve life, it is still full of hatred, disease, poverty and death. The Beatitudes and stories leading up to Christ's stunning death and resurrection then ascension to heaven clear the pathways of charlatons, apostasy, phoney messiahs and prophets. His simple approach and methods of instruction are so wonderful, full of hope and love and direction on how to live a better life. He speaks of everything that is human and for me the best stories of life are his because I never forget them and they only increase in worth and depth as I age and mature.
The Beatitudes are the opposite of the worst things on earth. They tell us what is possible even when it seems impossible. I have pondered them all my literate life and continue to meditate on them. The simplicity of each statement contains the most profound truths on earth, preparing us for the most profound experience to come. The Great Rescue and as Paul says the Victory over death no one else could accomplish.
THE EIGHT BEATITUDES OF JESUS
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10

Redemption by Redeemer
It is my favorite religious season on earth. 40+ days before Easter and 40+ days after to Pentecost.
For me it is the time when God is listening to my prayers and answering them, watching over me and protecting me, teaching me and helping me with others to understand what is going on in His world. He is always doing these things but during these days He is seemingly more present.
I had a tragic family life which left a great scar across my psyche, body and spirit. The loss of my father and a series of people near me or influential to me would have ended my life very early if it were not for my faith in Christ and His spiritual ability to find me and heal me over and make life worthwhile.
The lessons and practices and words of the Christian faith saved my life literally and cause great miracles to happen to help me flourish in the face of terrible evil. I have written poems, a book and painted paintings of my grief, damage, and fears which all helped. But there was nothing like following my faith, being baptised, participating in communion, receiving gifts of the Holy Spirit, listening to other Christians and especially pastors. All have helped to civilize me, settle me into the faith. But most of all is the immediate comfort of reading the Bible and prayer.
It is during this Holy season that all good Christians confess their sins in some way and ask for forgiveness, forgive others, and seek redemption from our Savior. Watching one of the mothers of one of the slain high school students in Ohio last week say she had already forgiven his killer. She said keeping that kind of anger and hatred in her heart wouldn't be good for her or honor her son. I was astonished at how quickly she could forgive. Then I remembered some of my horrible times when I realized in order just to get rid of the pain I would have to forgive my enemies. It always works. Nothing else is like it, no creative process or psychological therapy or psych meds provides the miracle of healing that forgiveness does.
And finally the whole process of living the story of Christ's Crucifixion and resurrection and ascension deepens my convictions of faith in our Father God, His Holy Son our Savior and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit. There are wonderful movies now on DVD that help Christians to experience witnessing to our Lord and this time. There is the commercial movie of Peter and Paul, The Passion of the Christ, and the best one in my opinion, The Gospel According to John. I am also reading Bill McKibben's book, The Comforting Whirlwind, which has given me much insight into these times by referencing with the book of Job in the Old Testament in the Bible.
Without these deeper convictions of faith, I am certain I would either be dead or a total mess emotionally, full of trembling fears as we descend into this century and climate change, economic turmoil and as yet unknown epic disasters. These horrible late winter storms crossing our country I am sure would wake up the psychotic break I experienced as a 13 year old living in a small town in Northwest Missouri. Nighttime winter visions of huge tornadoes barreling down over the snow towards our home. I was reading Revelation and Daniel both in the Bible by myself without guidance. I felt the crack fear caused in my psyche and insomnia full of terrified watching out the windows in the middle of the night followed all winter. Then it was gone. I look at these storms and realize that I was receiving visions way back in 1961. Visions of destruction. I get them every once in awhile but now I know how to handle them. Now I can listen to pastors online telling me what I know and what to expect and what to do where before there was no one. I am what is called a Home Church. Paul started them 2,000 years ago. I am so thankful for my fellow Christians and their missions to spread the word. It does help me cope and bring some peace into my life as chaos ebbs and flows around me, around us as humans.

Revelation: The 6th Seal: an earthquake, a dark sun, a red moon, falling stars, threatening sky, people hiding
And when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains.
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.
For the great day of his wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?
