During Lent and the Easter season, many people turn on to the Christian path and are baptised. I was when I was 7 years old by immersion in a church and so was my daughter at 7 with sprinkles of water. I have always wanted to go to the Holy Land to be baptised in the River Jordan like Jesus was with John the Baptist and the first Baptist followers. It isn't recommended to be baptised twice, once is all that is needed according to the Bible. So it was easy to give up that idea when I found out the River Jordan is extremely polluted and baptisms are discouraged. Many people go with pastors to rivers to be baptised and I hope it awakens an environmental consciousness in these people to clean up their rivers and streams by their homes. God made the waters that way, humans have polluted and fouled them.
