Old Greek Proverb

I got this from P. Allen Smith's Garden Home Newsletter. At the top is always a verse from a poem or words of wisdom about the earth and the life therein. This seemed worthy of sharing.

A society grows great when old men (people) plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.
