Recession over, unemployment and AB 23 in California!

Since reading David McCullough's book John Adams, my mind has opened up to the difference in this country between politics and government. President Adams was the framer of the US Constitution and without his wife and best friend, Abigail may not have been able to achieve all that he did. He was a man who believed the human being should function without living under tyranny and could do so intelligently with concern for his fellow humankind. If the people who comprise the current political offshoot party, The Tea Party, really knew the history of that event in Boston, MA and understood the principles that Adams conducted his writings and life, they would not have a "Tea Party" and would be abhorred at the true meaning of freedom that act represented in our history, hopefully becoming inspired by the words of Samuel Adams, cousin to John Adams and one of our Founding Fathers who also helped organize the Boston Tea Party.

"It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail." and my favorite...

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

What more tyranny over us than the tyranny of corporate power and greed that escape even our taxes as they rake the gold and control our lives, spoil our natural resources? Corporate power that fuels lobbyists and puppet legislators to do their bidding.

Yes, this horrible recession is over, it gave a spoiled generation or two a taste of what my grandparents' generation endured during the Great Depression. Enough so some regulation could be established to prevent this from happening again. But that was what I was always told while growing up, that safeguards had been established so that kind of economic catastrophe wouldn't happen again. But I saw it in big banking in something new called derivatives, again in quick over night mortgage and refinance companies who offered a quick buck to sell such instruments of deceit. Well, the stock market is back going pretty strong and still the most open market in the world. Then where are the jobs?

All that money given to banks and financial institutions is being hoarded away from hiring, employment, jobs for people so they won't continue to be foreclosed on by those banks. Oh the tyranny! And Congress? John and Samuel Adams wanted a Republican form of government but I feel they would shiver if they witnessed the greed and selfishness being displayed right now by this current Republican Party. Funding to the SBA has been stymied, after years of corporate raiding of the Small Business Administration's funds these people can't bear for America's small businesses to grow!  Job creation and government loan programs for the small business person are cutoff. And why? What would make people so selfish? Greed and Power! Companies won't hire because that would make the current administration of Obama look good which would also influence elections coming up to bring more enlightened, less corrupt legislators into office. Like we could solve some of our problems!
Tyranny is tyranny is tyranny!

In California it is obvious in a bill being sponsored by Texas oil companies, AB 23. Here the rate of unemployment is used to block an environmental bill passed and signed by and championed by the Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Our global warming bill AB32 helped lead the US in the world as a climate change champion!  The oil companies bill would disable the advanced global warming bill, funding for green projects in energy and housing would be blocked which are already providing employment, so that the current level of unemployment would reduce to 5.4% for a year.  We would be locked into it. I thought state's rights was a major Republican principle! Well, the funds withholding vice is operating here to keep us under the fossil fuel dirty thumb of power. By creating high unemployment, the corporate world of large companies and banks, fossil fuels can control our future, our air, our natural resources, our businesses, our lives, putting us in the dark ages of fossil fuel energy consumption.
