Click on the title of this post and read about Thomas Jefferson's slip when writing the Declaration of Independence. He referred to us as subjects first then had to "white-out" the word and write citizens. The new country and its language taking hold right in front of him and preserved for us in history in the document!
Making the transitions to a green lifestyle is much the same. We learn as we go and make changes. Sometimes there are slip-ups and we don't always know the facts or what to do until we get "educated" to environmental issues.
