New Federal Emission Standards

This is gratifying and exciting news, the White House has issued an Executive Order to reduce all Federal levels of greenhouse gas emissions to 28% by 2020 and the DOD to reduce emissions to 34% by 2020. It is important for the federal government to set an example to the country and especially since the Dept. of Defense sites national security and the breaking away of dependence on foreign oil as a major reason for this decision.

Federal Agencies are already taking actions such as installing solar arrays in military installations, tapping landfills for renewable energy, putting energy management systems in Federal buildings, and replacing older cars with the new hybrid models! Hooray!!


The Office of Management and Budget will validate each agency's sustainability plan to assure the American taxpayer a long-term payback on the tax investment. Progress will be reported online.

Truly, this is the news and precedent we need in this country to keep growth and liveability on track for our future.
