California broke...again. Where's our stimulus money?

California state government is broke again. One of the budget cuts Governor Schwarzenegger says will happen is closure of California State Parks.

Above are watercolors of two State Parks, The Carmel River State Park and Natural Bridges State Park that are within the federal Monterey Bay Marine Life Sanctuary. Natural Bridges is in Santa Cruz and home to the Monarch Butterfly station and breeding grounds + a wonderful lookout for otters, whales and seals. Carmel River State Park is a bird sanctuary. Closing the State Parks is foolish since revenues brought in from tourism exceed what it costs to run them, so it is lucrative to keep them open. These parks are places where citizens can go to unwind and renew. Closing them down is a sin.
I don't understand big government budgets. I read and read but there is too much politics going on to find the truth. California was slated for a huge federal stimulus package that would have more than covered the $20b+ debt that has popped up since tax revenues failed to show this year due to the recession. I have read that $50b+ will be missing from the big, total federal stimulus package due to corruption. Well, well, well. Is that our (California) money or is it just scattered illegally in pockets throughout the US?
The budget cuts so far in California have been affecting the poor, sick and children with more on the way. Where are the tax payments from oil companies? That was a big issue this past election and still nothing.
Too much confusion, too much corruption, no real leadership.
It has to stop.
