Big Sur watercolor
I've never seen this or heard of this before, but there are 1,800 fires burning right now in California, mostly in Northern California and the fire season has just begun! The entire town of Big Sur, CA has been evacuated!!
I suffered from the haze of smoke and ash that hovered over San Jose last week. It has cleared up a bit but today on the way to the grocery store I saw a huge gray cloud hovering over the Santa Cruz Mountains foothills by my home.
The fires were mainly started by lightening storms where the rain that falls evaporates before it hits the ground. The strikes are deadly and there is no rain to put out the fires. 41 states have come in to help our firefighters battle the storm. I am so sad. I just hope people don't set off more fires with fireworks!
